Diet 

 

It took several months to become a vegetarian. I gradually shifted my food intake as well because as my practices became more intense, I had to find vegetarian food that will compensate the protein intake.  Fasting was crucial to my diet because it allowed me to control the craving.

Variation 1

Fall, Winter, and Spring

  • Banana (2)

  • Orange (1)

  • Greek Yogurt (1 tbsp) with Unsalted Peanuts (4 tbsp) and Raw Honey (1 tbsp) mix with Muesli (2 tbsp) and Cacao (1 tbsp)

  • Quinoa (3 tbsp) mix Basmati Indian Rice (2 tbsp)

  • Masoor Dal (5 tbsp) mix with vegetable (ex: Spinach and Carrot)

  • Avocado (1)

  • 2 Organic Tortillas, Naan, or Roti

  • Ghee (1 tbsp - Ghee in Lentils)

* Snack/Dessert: Indian Sweets (ex: Gulab Jamun). I eat sweets once a week.

 

Summer

In the summer I blend my food and eat light. I keep my body more cool.

Zammai's Fruit Shake

  • Mango (1)

  • (1) Pomegranate, Pear, or Orange

  • Maca (2 tbsp)

  • Cacao( 2 tbsp)

  • Banana (2)

  • Room temperature water with ice

 

Main Dish Shake

  • Avocado (1)

  • Lentils (5 tbsp & blend)

  • Quinoa (3 tbs & blend)

  • Vegetable (ex: Broccoli & blend)

  • Ghee (1 tbsp & add to Lentils)

  • Apple Sauce

  • 2 Organic Tortillas, Naan, or Roti

 
 
 

Variation 2

Variation 2 rests my stomach by eating light.

  • Bananas (2)

  • Hawaiian Papaya (1)

  • Apple Sauce

  • White Toast (2) or Unsalted Crackers (2 packs)

  • Basmati Indian Rice (4 tbsp)

  • Potato (1 boil)

  • Room temperature water with Ginger

Alternate food

* Red Lentils, Black Chickpeas, Cannellini Beans, Tofu, Cucumber, Sprouts, Okra, Zucchini, Organic Green beans, Cheddar Cauliflower, Jackfruit, Tikka Masala, Dhal Makani, and Chapati.

* Fruit - Apple, Peach, or Pineapple.  

* Sesame Seeds - It warms the body and I eat in the winter.

I became left handed and when I went to India, I gradually began to eat again with the right hand :-)
