Once you enter spiritual practice there are times of the year that have a special moment. MahaShivRatri is a night when the energy is at its highest peak and for spiritual practitioners, especially, yogis on the path to self-realization, it is a night that can push you faster to break the boundaries/limitations (call it your memory software impressions and karma). Last year, I celebrated MahaShivRatri in one of the sacred holy places in Hinduism - The Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu. I was out in the cold singing with Sadhus (holy men) and this year I was around Isha meditators singing and dancing. Wait me dancing? Before I began this transformation, my anger hold me back to not open myself and just let it go. Whenever there was a gathering, I would stand with my hands tucked inside my pants - in a position that showed I was better than everyone.

In 2016,  when I was in a Zen silence meditation center in the top of the Perumal Hills in South India, I didn’t expect myself that I will dance and sing for an audience. During my stay, one of the weeks coincided with the Zen master’s 80th birthday. It was a big celebration at the center. The volunteers asked me if I wanted to participate. I said yes but I didn’t really know what I was supposed to do. The week before the birthday celebration I was told that I will sing and dance with the group. At first, I felt hesitant and meditated on my decision and decided to go through it with full intensity. I think this was my first exposure to really feel the joy of letting it go and celebrate. It actually went pretty well and I felt good not so much because the performance went well but it was the beginning of destroying old habits that hold me back.

There are times when you just have to let it go. Enjoy the sounds and good vibration. Picture yourself dancing with people you care or even alone, and feel the blissfulness of freedom. This is an energy vibration that can assist you in welcoming every second of your life with full enjoyment.  We are all energy vibration but you haven’t seen it because only those who have achieved self-realization can identify this energy.

So let it go, let it go, dance to the tunes, and create your freedom.....
